The weight of absence
There are looks that ask for nothing, because they know that the answer never comes. In the eyes of this young man dwells this emptiness: a quiet sadness, without drama, without claims. It is not the fury of abandonment or the trembling of contained tears, but something deeper and more definitive: the certainty of being alone.
His face does not beg, does not wait. It barely supports the weight of an immobile time, where absence has covered everything. There is no consolation in his expression, only the naked melancholy of one who has stopped looking for a reason to fill the silence.
In front of him, the spectator stops, perhaps recognizing himself in his gesture, in that icy breeze left by the lack of someone. And for an instant, in that gaze that does not see us, we feel that he is looking at us.
